A Yes that Builds
Throughout life we have opportunities to say a fresh “yes” to God. We build our history with Him through the surrender of each “yes”.
When was your first “yes” to God? What was that first moment when your heart came alive and you became a new creation? That first “yes” was a building block of surrender you can steward with God as you journey with Him. Throughout life we have opportunities to say a fresh “yes” to God. We build our history with Him through the surrender of each “yes”.
That “yes” to Jesus doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be the soft whisper “yes” to His invitation to draw aside and spend time with Him. It can be seen in the “yes” to do the right thing when the more convenient option seems the easy way out. Our “yes” that builds through the years as we walk with God is displayed in so many different ways. You can tell people who have built their “yes” with God. Their history with Him is rich and multifaceted. They don’t just have their first and only “yes” to God they gave when they invited Jesus into their life as Saviour. Instead they live a life of saying “yes” to Him - a “yes” that builds.
My first “yes” to Him was at the tender age of two years old. It wasn’t a complicated process of giving my life to Him back then. But it has been a “yes” that builds over the years. The “yes” I gave to God at two was different to the “yes” at 10, or at 15, or at 21. Each “yes” throughout the decades has grown in its outworking of what it means to surrender and live a life for Him and from Him.
A SELAH MOMENT
Think back to your first “yes” you gave God. Honour that moment and thank Him for journeying with you through every “yes” since. Take time to give Jesus a fresh “yes” today - a yes that builds.
