“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23 NKJV

Waiting for the promises of God to be fulfilled in our lives, reveals a lot about our belief of God’s character. In the seasons of waiting, our hearts can begin to rationalise away His faithfulness towards us. As we wait for the promise, do we discredit ourselves as the exception to the promise and lose sight of His goodness and unfailing love?

Believing the promises of God is not like throwing rings out at targets at a local fair, unsure whether a ring will land on an elusive prize always just out of reach. It can sometimes feel like the ring will never go over a target, securing the promise. But God’s promises to us are never rigged, unattainable or hold the glitz of a fair while leaving us empty handed with the disappointment and condolence of “better luck next time”.

God’s promises are sure. He does not lie, give false hope or trick us into believing something He never intends to bring to pass. God’s character is faithful, true, and just. Are you holding on to a promise today? If He has given you a word, that is enough. Trust the character of the One who has spoken the word knowing that He is and always will be dependable.

A SELAH MOMENT

Are there any promises from God that you feel are like rings being tossed at a target; with that elusive prize always feeling out of reach? Bring those promises to God now, and ask Him to reveal His truth and faithfulness to you.
